If your article is original, has low competition keywords, and have other factors such as grammar in place, you are on the right path.

Now the real question comes into play; How long should my article be? What kind of articles usually rank on search engines? How to rank on answer snippets?

The combination of these answers give you a surefire way of ranking on search engines.

The three types of posts are:

  1. Response post
  2. Staple post
  3. Pillar post

Response post

A response post is a response to a question. It answers a specific question quickly and has low competition. These are the very first articles you must write on your website.
It consist of 1200–1500 words and it’s quite specific. It usually gets a rankingon answer snippets.

Staple post:

Slightly longer than response post. It contains list and in-depth information. It consist of 2500–3500 words and a format is followed.

Pillar post

3500 words — well-thought and researched post.
Contains a minimum of 4 subheading with 300+ words.
